Employers are legally obliged to issue a statement of terms and conditions of employment within two months of the date of the employment relationship commencing. This gives employers the opportunity to set out clearly what they expect of employees. A well drafted contract of employment will serve the employer well if there are difficulties in the employment relationship. It should also provide employees with a clearer understanding of their rights and obligations. Rather than providing employers with a style employment contract or generic policy, Blackadders’ Employment Team will tailor the terms of any documents to meet the specific needs of the business. Experience dictates that one size does not fit all with regard to this area of law.
