Biography

Campbell is a Legal 500 Recommended Lawyer and leads Blackadders' Corporate & Commercial team.  Campbell has been highlighted in recent editions of Chambers and Legal 500 as "a great ambassador for the firm", for his "pragmatic approach to business issues" and "exceptional quality of service".  He and his team advise clients from high-growth technology businesses and privately-held companies to major PLCs and large corporations with global operations.

Campbell's commitment to client service has seen him attain the Signet Accreditation in corporate law, a rigorous assessment of client-focused skills as well as legal knowledge.  He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the LEGUS international network of law firms, a member of the BioDundee steering group, represents Blackadders as a corporate partner of LINC Scotland and is a non-executive director of The Insights Group Limited, a global learning and development company.

Biography

Kirk Dailly is a Partner in our Corporate & Commercial team. His expertise lies in corporate, commercial and intellectual property law.

With a particular focus on the technology, creative, healthcare and retail sectors, Kirk regularly advises clients in connection with business sales and purchases, investment rounds, share buybacks, commercial contracts, copyright issues and brand protection.  He is also a member of our IP and Technology group.

In February 2013, Kirk was awarded the coveted Signet Accreditation in corporate law, a formal qualification recognising excellence in legal services and signifying proficiency in an area of legal practice.  He is one of only two lawyers in Scotland to have attained the accreditation in this field.

  • Lead adviser in numerous growth company funding rounds, with values of up to several millions of pounds
  • Acting for one of Scotland's largest private companies on strategic disposals and acquisitions.

Biography

Susan has more than 15 years’ experience of corporate and commercial law, and was formerly a partner in a large Edinburgh law firm.  She deals with a variety of matters across a range of sectors, including company and business sales and purchases, joint ventures, investment rounds, commercial contracts and intellectual property.  She also has significant experience of the timeshare and vacation ownership industry, having advised clients operating in this area for a number of years.

With a clear focus on client service, Susan offers commercial and pragmatic advice and is committed to securing the best outcome for her clients.

Susan was highlighted in Chambers 2015, which states that she “receives praise for the high quality of her corporate work”.

Biography

Ruth Weir works as a senior solicitor within our Corporate and Commercial Team. 

 

Ruth joined Blackadders after working in-house for a multi-million pound sporting organisation, advising on media and broadcasting rights, brand management and data protection compliance. Ruth provides clients with corporate and commercial advice in a variety of areas, including equity investment, business sales and purchases, share buybacks and corporate governance. She also regularly advises on management and protection of intellectual property. 

Ruth has developed a particular interest in data protection and compliance and is able to assist clients in meeting requirements under the Data Protection Act as well as the upcoming General Data Protection Regulations.

Biography

Sarah is an Associate Solicitor in Blackadders' Business team.  Sarah advises on corporate, commercial and employment matters and works with various sectors with a special interest in charities.  Sarah and her team advise clients from not for profit organisations and privately-held companies to major PLCs and large corporations with global operations.  Sarah was recently seconded to OSRC, the Scottish Charities Regulator, gaining invaluable experience and specialist knowledge of regulatory work.  

Sarah recently returned from a position with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator, where she gained a valuable understanding of OSCR's regulatory approach.  Sarah can assist charities or those thinking about setting up a charity from set up to dissolution.
