The role of the COO will have a wide range of responsibilities including leading Operations, IT, Marketing, Finance, Compliance and Regulations within a legal environment. To ensure the business achieves the strategic plan and ensures appropriate systems, processes and people are in place for delivery additional future growth.
Principal Duties will include:
- Work in partnership with the Board to deliver the strategic plan for the business.
- Lead a team of 5 direct reports whilst overseeing a broader team.
Develop a culture that generates motivated, engaged and empowered individuals which attracts top quality talent.
- Bring best in class experience and practices to the business.
Refine control, measurement and reporting systems to generate fast, accurate management information to support the strategic plan.
Oversee the development, implementation and use of technology throughout the firm to meet business growth.
Review and manage business continuity and disaster recovery for the business.
- Lead commercial negotiations with key suppliers and oversee all significant tenders and quotes.
- Adhere to Blackadders policies and procedures and Law Society of Scotland Regulations, including Money Laundering, Client Charter etc.
Ensure that Safe Working Practices are adhered to, in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation and Blackadders LLP.
- Minimum of 10 years board or senior management experience, preferably within a legal or other professional services background
Self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and problem-solving skills.Good knowledge of financial data, a comprehension of regulatory, compliance and risk management
