December 2020 Newsletter

A unique year of responding and adapting - and learning.

As we prepare to put 2020 behind us, we will no doubt look back on the extraordinary events which impacted the world at large.

But while this year has been extremely forbidding, we have learnt as a firm from 2020. We learnt that our disaster recovery plans worked when tested, that our IT systems coped with a move to home working and defaulting to digital, that the diverse service lines we have as a full-service firm provided resilience and that the law and our Scottish institutions, albeit some quicker than others, would accommodate lockdown conditions.

Most of all, we have learnt that our well-trained loyal staff in both our law firm and our wealth management firm could respond quickly and positively to an unexpected and disconcerting scenario. The drive and flexibility to ensure uninterrupted client service whilst many were facing the same issues as our clients with childcare and elderly family members was to their huge credit.

As we approach the end of 2020, we wanted to take a moment to reflect and to share with you some of the good news stories from around the firm.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your business and your continued loyalty. We wish you and your families a very safe and happy festive period.
