The Blackadders Employment Team & friends are participating in the Mighty Stride (25 miles) in this year’s KiltWalk, on Sunday the 18th of August in Dundee, to raise funds for the charity Dundee Carers Centre. Dundee Carers Centre aims to improve the lives of carers through practical and emotional support, advocacy, training and information about services, rights and benefits. Team members are Simon Allison, Katrina Barron, Jack Boyle, Blair Duncan, Laura Lindsay and Douglas McConnell.
Jack is a Trustee of Dundee Carers and is delighted that the Employment Team are raising funds for his chosen charity. As Jack says, “Dundee Carers Centre is a local charity providing valuable support to various people in the local community, predominantly people who care for their loved ones and disabled people. They organise a variety of essential support mechanisms such as helping people access benefits to which they are eligible, services in schools for young carers and short break services for carers to provide respite. Being a carer for a loved one can often lead to the carer neglecting their own wellbeing and feeling isolated. The Carers Centre strives to support such people with a number of free services.”
