Blackadders are pleased to announce that John James has joined our Wealth Management team as our new Investment Manager. The skills, knowledge and experience that John brings to the firm will enhance the offering we provide to our Private Clients.
Prior to joining Blackadders, John was a member of the Brewin Dolphin Charity team operating from their Cardiff office. He was involved in the day to day running of a number of Charitable Trust portfolios and attended regular meetings of the Trustees. Part of his remit was to ensure that Trustees were adequately advised of their responsibilities, holding regular seminars in and around Cardiff.
John began his career with WM Company and Edinburgh Fund Managers. In 1990 he branched out into Private Client and in 1997 he joined Rathbones where he gained his Diploma from the Securities Institute, looking after around £30m of Charities and Private Clients' portfolios. John's experience of Trusts and Charities was further broadened when he joined Mazars to focus on Bank of Scotland Trusts in their Trustee Department where he spent six years overseeing the management of some 900 portfolios.
John has been involved in financial services since 1985. He studied Chemistry at St Andrews University (BSc Hons), and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investments; he holds the Level 6 PCIAM qualification and has gained his Statement of Professional Standing.
