David is a Solicitor in our Rural Land and Business team. After completing his B.A. at St. Francis Xavier University, he attended the University of Aberdeen where he obtained both his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and his Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. He focussed the majority of his traineeship on rural and agricultural transactions and qualified as a Solicitor in 2017.
David has a broad range of property experience and advises on a range of rural matters including the acquisition and sale of farms, fields, rural buildings and agricultural property. He also advises on partnership agreements, rural residential tenancies, rural security work for lenders and borrowers, Voluntary Registration of farms, rural title queries and Deeds of Servitude. He has a particular interest in agricultural security work and the workings of rural businesses.
David is also often tasked with researching and informing our Rural Land and Business team on current legislation on a variety of agricultural legal issues and their potential impact on our clients.
David’s passion for agriculture and countryside matters was formed and fostered through his many connections in the Wolfe Island, Ontario farming community and his unique understanding of rural businesses is used to the benefit of our clients.
