Housing sales fall to their lowest on record

The Council of Mortgage Lenders has recently said that the contraction in UK mortgage lending since 2007 has been the most severe on record.  It also noted that housing transactions have fallen to their lowest levels since records began.  Readers of previous blogs will know that I am very concerned with the issues regarding mortgage lending, in particular the restrictions on first time buyers to access borrowing on a sufficient level to allow them to get onto the housing market.

I also read that people who are considering joining the gym this month to shift the festive calories would be best to delay until they have a mortgage approved as due to the proposed new FSA Regulations, banks will take into account all items of expenditure in terms of assessing mortgage suitability.

With this in mind, my firm has recently come to an arrangement with a very large Scotland wide firm of mortgage brokers to provide our mortgage business.  This will enable us to ensure that our clients have access to high quality independent mortgage advice, from the widest source possible.  The company’s strength in the mortgage market will be enhanced by the volume of business from Blackadders which will allow us to have access to a number of exclusive products.

As part of the launch of this new venture, I am able to provide you with a free, no obligation mortgage health check and should you wish to take advantage of this then please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the Blackadders Property Team who will take your details and pass on to the appropriate person.
