Biography

Gail is a Director in our Rural Land and Business Department and is based in our Edinburgh office. She has many years’ experience in dealing with all aspects of rural property matters, and regularly advises landowners, developers and commercial clients in respect of land and forestry acquisitions and sales, agricultural law, farms, sporting and fishing rights, minerals and rural Estates.

She routinely deals with general Estate and Estate management matters- title issues, services, access, conservation, environment, estate planning /re-organisation and Estate/family business structures.

Gail is also a specialist in renewable energy matters, having been involved in over 100 windfarm, hydro and other renewable projects for clients.

Biography

Ellen Eunson qualified in 2003, has spent her legal career based in Aberdeen, and joined Blackadders from a large national law firm.  She is experienced in rural property work, including farm and estate sales and purchases, agricultural leasing, bank finance work (acting for both lenders and borrowers), and servitudes and burdens.  She can also advise on renewables projects, shooting and fishing, partnership and succession matters. 

Ellen acts for a wide range of rural clients, including farmers and estate owners, landlords and tenants, lending institutions, and diversified rural businesses.

Ellen comes from Speyside, and has many family connections in the farming community, and uses her excellent understanding of rural businesses to the benefit of her clients.

Biography

Gillian is a Director in our Rural Land and Business Team.  Gillian obtained a BSc (Hons) in Physiology from St Andrews University before obtaining her LLB from Dundee University in 2004. 

Since qualifying as a solicitor in 2007 Gillian has built up considerable experience advising farmers, landowners, developers and lenders on a wide variety of rural matters including the Agricultural Holdings legislation, agricultural tenancies, renewable energy projects, security work on behalf of lenders and borrowers, planning agreements and title conditions. 

Gillian has a particular interest in the sale and acquisition of farms, estates, forestry and other rural property as well as Option Agreements in relation to development

Biography

Janine is a Director in our Residential Property Division. She joined Blackadders LLP in their Aberdeen office.

After gaining a PDA in Conveyancing in 2005, Janine has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience within the local area in and around Aberdeen.  She specialises in residential Purchases, Sales, re-Mortgages, Discharges, Transfers of Titles, Wills and Power of Attorneys.

Janine aims to provide a high level of service giving expert guidance and service for a smooth running transaction in what can otherwise be a very stressful time for clients. She assists clients with the purchase and sale of their home, including new build purchases, part exchange or shared equity purchases.

Stuart has spent more than 10 years working in Edinburgh in one of the largest commercial property teams in the country, as well as for a renowned private client firm dealing with their commercial property requirements. He has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial and residential property, including investment acquisitions and disposals, and landlord and tenant work.

Stuart has advised on the Scottish aspects of cross-border portfolio projects, and has wide experience in property finance matters, acting for lenders and institutional investors in secured lending transactions. He has acted for, amongst others, UK and international companies, financial institutions, private individuals and on behalf of personal pension schemes. He acts for both landlords and tenants in retail, office and other lettings.

Stuart has worked as a tutor on the undergraduate degree and post graduate diploma courses at the Universities of Edinburgh and Dundee.

Kevin joined Blackadders as the IT director in 2016. Kevin manages the IT team and oversees the use of technology for the firm, being responsible for strategic direction in alignment with the business need.

Kevin has considerable experience in Information Technology and has managed a wide spectrum of high-value projects. During his career Kevin has worked across various sectors including retail and education. He has also been involved in clinical informatics and high performance computing in a medical environment.

Kevin also acquired an MBA from the Dundee Business School (Abertay University) in 2010.

Biography

Martin is Blackadder’s Director of Property Services and heads up our successful estate agency team.

With nearly 30 years’ experience in property sales, Martin is also one of the few Fellows of the National Association of Estate Agents within Scotland. He is past chairman of the Scottish NAEA and is also council representative for Scotland, representing  the views of Scottish members to the UK council. Martin sits on the Property Information Advisory Committee which puts him in a good position to appraise any new property legislation from the Scottish Executive. He is an expert on the local housing market and works closely also with many leading developers.

Nicola joined Blackadders in June 2003 and is responsible for the creation and development of the firm's marketing strategy and for the continuing development of the Blackadders' brand.

Nicola leads the marketing department on various ongoing projects as well as managing relationships with a number of support agencies. She and her team work closely with all practice areas within the firm. Biography

Dale is the Director of Private Client Services at Blackadders.  He has 20 years of experience in Private Client work, and specialises in executry and trust matters, having dealt with many complex cases over the years, including estates with a foreign element work, and those with complex tax issues to be addressed. 

For the individual, he specialises in wills and tax planning.  Dale is also qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales, and can therefore advise clients with cross-border issues.

As Director of Private Client Services, he draws on his vast experience to streamline the administration of trusts and executry estates.

Dale initially studied Mathematics at the University of Aberdeen before undertaking an MSc in Operational Research at the University of Sussex. He was an operational research analyst in London with the British Rail Policy Unit and APACS (UK bank clearing system), before taking up a career in law, returning to Aberdeen to complete the Diploma in Legal Practice, since when he has specialised in Private Client work.

Dale has been a tutor on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh since 2002, and is now in his sixth year as  Senior Tutor, planning and directing the Private Client course.   He is also the external examiner for the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice, Private Client course, at the University of Dundee.

Keith graduated with BA (Hons) in History from Hull University 1982. He has been in financial services providing independent financial advice since 1985 and joined Blackadders in 1991.

Keith has been instrumental in developing Blackadders Wealth Management into the position of being one of the leading solicitor run IFA and portfolio management practices in Scotland.

He specialises in Investment portfolios and strategies , Inheritance Tax planning and Trusts. Keith is quoted regularly in the national and specialist trades press on a wide range of topical issues as well as leading the local IFA Promotion Press club for the Dundee area.

He is an external examiner for the Business and Financial Services element of the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice with the University of Dundee. He was also previously a tutor on the Conduct of Investment Business rules for SOLAS and won the Scotsman IFA of the Year competition in 2008
