Mediation is a voluntary process where the parties, with the assistance of a mutually appointed mediator or mediators, try to reach agreement on the issues in dispute between them. In order to participate in this process both parties must be willing to attend sessions together. The mediator will try to help the parties resolve the issues in dispute but will not give legal advice. If an agreement is reached then a solicitor will be required to prepare a formal agreement. The benefit of mediation is that it allows the couple to control the decision making process and enables better lines of communication to be established following separation.
Craig Samson has been trained by Comprehensive Accredited Lawyer Mediators (CALM). All CALM mediators are qualified solicitors specially trained to deal with both financial and child related issues. Craig is also accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Family Mediator.
Our lawyers in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Perth work together across various disciplines to ensure that our clients' requirements are met.
